burn fat

The idea of losing fat has been a part of our daily life. This is apparently true for some people with weight problems. The same can be said for gaining muscle. However, when the question whether it is possible to do both at the same time arises, many heads will surely turn. This has become a source of debate amongst health & fitness enthusiasts and researches have been done to prove this theory. We will take a deeper look into this subject.

First of all we need to know what exactly happens to the body during one of these processes. In order to lose fat, one needs to burn calories more than the amount we take in. This way, we reduce the amount of fat in our body which in turn lower our weight. In the process there is a possibility that some muscle will be lost.

On the other hand, to gain muscle the foremost thing we need to take care of is to increase our body lean mass. This is achievable through the increased consumption of proteins, calories and a little fat here and there. After that, the routine basically includes daily exercises at your local gym and weight lifting until you shape the desired muscle.

As we observe from above comparison, both processes conflict each other. Attempt to achieve both at the same time is not much different than trying to pull open a door with a ‘push’ sign on it. So, what should one does to lose his belly fat and turns them into a nice six-pack abs? The answer is simple. We do it one after another.

Which one should I prioritize then? Depending on the circumstances, you need to carefully select your option. Those with weight problem are recommended to first lose some fat. Reduce calories intake and do weight lifting as usual. For this period, concentrate on losing excess fat in preparation to the next step. During gaining muscle period, you do the complete opposite. Increase consumption of protein and calories with little amount of fat. Concentrate on gaining all the strength and muscle. Any excess fat that arises during this step will be taken care of on ‘losing fat’ step.

Figuring out which one to do first is essential. It is much more easier to add more muscle when you do not need to worry about body fat. With correct commitment and dedication, lose fat and gain muscle can be achieved!
